Die schönsten Weihnachtslieder für Querflöte (The Most Beautiful Christmas Carols for Transverse Flute) by Hans and Marianne Magolt
This is a collection of very simple flute duets that I like to bust out around Christmas-time for sight-reading because most of the song are familiar, but most of the text is in German. It’s always interesting to have students play the song and say, “That sounds familiar.” Then play it back to them and they instantly know the song. It never gets old. One can play the flute 1 part alone or with a partner. These are great pieces for church, recital, or just family/friend time as the tune is mostly in the flute 1 part, and with the second part they sound simply nice. The pieces are short enough that you can play them through once or more for caroling and have bonus chord symbols above the music. Most of the songs have cute black and white, hand drawn pictures to fill out the page.
